I know it's not a perfect match and just before I pull the trigger on the 8" wheels I just had to ask.anyone run a combo like this with good or bad results.this whole tire/wheel search is gettig old for me
I was going to go steel wheel then changed my mind to alloy and 17's but all the tires are such a low profile I would have some issues so back to steelies plus I do like the look. thankful for any help here!

According to this site, you should be fine with the 10" wheel.

I've run 275X60X15 on 10 and 8 inch wheels. IMO they work better on 10's but either will work.

If you are going to buy rims any way you may as well get ones that work best, 8" rims aren't it.

See what eh tire manufacturer recommends, but 10" would be my minimum.

They say there are no such thing as a stupid question.
They say there is always the exception that proves the rule.
Don't be the exception.

I'll be the Devil's advocate here. Ran 275s on 8" wheels forever. No issues. Ran them all the way around. Drove well, aligned like it should, stopped well.

the thing is I want to run a set of 10" wheels but the manufacturer suggests 7.5"-9.5", the tires are the Nitto drag radials.

If the manufactur say 7.5 to 9.5 I dont believe the extra .5 is gonna hurt anything. Id say it depended on the actual tire. Some 275s are a little wider than other 275s.

I am truckless..

..then obviously the 8" rim is a better choice.

Here's mine;

...ignore the ridiculous SS springs, they are long gone!

If you will be running drag Radials they are wider than a standand 275/60/15
Both of my cars have 275/60/15s one with 8 inch and the other with a 10 inch wheel, in my opinion the tire looks much better on a the 10 inch wheel, the 8 inch wheel folds the sidewall in too much.

I have some 275/40/17's on a 9" wide rim. No problems. I also ran 275/60/15 on 8" rims forever. No problems, nice even wear.
