I'm looking at a crank which has 2.375 rod journals & 4.500 stroke .. I plan to use Oliver rods & was wondering if there enough rotating assembly clearance inside a KB street hemi water block for this combo.
Potential probs with cam lobe interference w/ roller cam .?

The crank looks like a good deal so just wanted to make sure... I was originally planning on 2.200 journals but this crank looks good .

I have run a 4.5 crank, 2.375 bearings on the rods using a Cam Dynamics roller with 286 @ .050 intake/exhuast duration, .500 lobes. This was in a stock factory block. I have no reason to think any other block would have a problem running this combo, provided the rods are steel and about the same thickness at the rod bolt to cam interference point is the same.

I have a stock block wedge with 4,5" stroke and a .625" valvelift rollercam. Uses Nascar hemi rods. Needed to grind off some material from the head of the bolt on 4 rods. Has very little clearance, but has ran without problems. Oil pickup boss needed partly to be ground off.

I forgot to mention those were stock 6pack rods.

thanks for this .looks like KB may be able to notch the block a little as part of my order , no major issues as far as i can tell. as to cam interference I'll have to take the risk but I'm not going to be running a huge cam (250/262 @ 0.050 + 0.700 @ valve ). Standard cam location roller .I'm sure others have run similar combos without problems.
