So, after 5 years, divorce, parts sourcing and alot of storage time I finally got an alignment and got the car ready for Summer Cruising and Ocassional drag strip fun.
I drove the Black J code Charger to 75/80 last night. About 30 miles each way with my 6 year old son.
This is a pump gas 471 Hemi with Hydraulic Roller cam. 74 NOS block, MM sourced Rotating assembley, Porter groomed MP heads, Comp Hyd Roller and Stock intake and Carbs, built by Burtonsville Performance Machine. Dynamic- 9.5"/Correct Hemi Trans go with the A32 4:10 Dana.
I installed a big set of 295 MT Drag Radials to no avail.
1st: 12.83 @ 112- Shakedown/No Burnout Adjusted Kickdown and removed ChromeDome. 2nd: 12.72 @ 113mph, 2.07 60'- Smokey Burnout/Blew tires away. Dropped Pressure to 22psi. 3rd- 12.11 @ 113.5- 1.90 60'. Walked out of hole but spun. Felt much stronger.
Found Calipers leaking and need to Jet Carbs. Have Rocker Noise and will need to reset preload. I'm happy and now the real shakedown begins for Tune and dependability. I'm gonna do a CalTrac MonoLeaf for non Stock Tuning Mods.
