S I finally got the car going minus a couple issues and the headers are way to close to the factory rubber biscuit and it burnt it in no time.

So I bought this

http://www.flamingriver.com/index.php/products/c0005/s0006/FR1506P

This is supposed to be for power steering cars. I took the couple/biscuit assembly off and this piece is too short to reach the splines on the steering gear.

Any ideas on the easiest fix? I am guessing this piece would work perfect on cars that don't have that extra big bulky rubber biscuit.

Unfortunately that original rubber column isolater is there for a reason...Did you get rid of the rubber/poly K frame isolators ??? If not that coupler is'nt going to work...Anyhow...I have the heat ring still in place around the factory steering coupler on the 73 and the headers have'nt cooked it yet.... ...Not an easy fix going any route other than stock...If the price of that original coupler has you ...I know guys have used the aftermarket brand x rag joints and doubled them up...

The thing is a 74 Satellite/RR doesn't have that big rubber isolator (not the ones I looked at) and they still have the isolated k-frame. So what would removing it do other than give me some more vibration through the wheel maybe?

My problem is the headers would not fit with the metal shield. had to loose it and the rubber isolator cooked in no time. I need to get something figured out..New headers aren't in the plan.

Thanks
