After my problems with comps rockers I have decided to switch to Harland Sharps. My question is the website says you might have to restrict the oil flow to the heads with these rockers. I was wondering how much to restrict and how you were doing it. Thanks!

Need a little more info on set up and intended useage and parts in the engine. I stock and sell Harland Sharp, let me know.

i don't restrict the oil to the heads when using edelbrock heads and HS rockers. setting up the side play per their instructions is helpful. having a little more oil up top to help cool the springs can be a good thing as long as your running a larger than 4 quart stock pan.

On stock iron heads and Edelbrock heads w/ Harland Sharp rockers I never restricted oil to them. With Indy SR heads it needed .060" restrictors in the oil lines. Without them it flooded the topend real quick w/ oil.

Speaking of which ... Can you tell me what those instructions say (the key points) ... I seem to have lost mine over the years.
Thanks,

I'm not familar with that brand of cams, do you know if they groove the number four cam journal so it will oil the rocker shafts full time? If so you may need to restrict the oil feed to the shafts, I like and use .040 restrictors on my engines with roller rockers, Harland Sharps and T&D single shaft sytems now
I don't think its been modified. We had to spin the engine over with a socket when we drill primed it to get oil to the rockers.
If it isn't oiling the rockers full time don't restrict the oil flow I'm going to cut the top out of a stock rocker cover to watch how much oil flows on my motors that have the full time oiling and on one that doesn't to see how much differences there are in the oil flow, maybe video it and post them. On the motors that oil full time with Indy heads or Eddy heads with single shaft roller rockers I've seen a lot more oil under the rocker covers at the dyno shop when it was time to set the valves than I consider normal, a lot more oil That is why I use the restrictors on motors that oil the roller rockers full time

No restrictions here on my RPM`s but I do tighten up the side clearances to about .010-012.................not sure if I need to but after 7+ years all`s well.
