Welcome to the site. If you post some clear, up close photos of the hood there are a few people on here that can help you out. If you have a T/A block in your car it might be handy to get a closer look at it and find the VIN and engine stampings. Barry Washington runs the T/A registry and really likes to have that info so cars can be reunited with their original drivetrains. He can be found on here as "Alaskan TA". Feel free to post a pic of your pride and joy.

thank you grizzly! pics of hood coming soon.....
i have talked with barry, it is an AAR cuda block, found the vin after it in the registry, but not the actual car for this vin. i believe it was born/sold in the eastern states. i am rebuilding the engine to factory specs, then probably selling it to someone who wants to make their TA or AAR correct. it's all there from carbs to pan, intake, heads, block, valve covers, all TA.
ok, thanks, and here is a shot of the car!

hey folks! i am new here, i have a 1970 'cuda convertible, dressed up as an AAR clone. lots of parts on the car are real AAR stuff, (engine mostly, pretty sure the rear spoiler is too). i am trying to determine if the hood is real too. it is bowed pretty good on the drivers side like most of the originals, i was wondering if there are sure fire tell tale markings on one to determine if it's a real deal or a repop? thanks in advance for the help!
If it's original, it will be warped where the factory steel brace embedded into the fiberglass channel that the hood hinge bolts to ends. Or else it will show signs of being repaired there at one time or another in its life. Every single one I've ever come across was like this, because the brace/bracket that the hinge bolts to is too short. Only exception is if you ran into someone who disconnected the hood hinge springs some 40+ years ago, or it's some NOS never bolted on piece (good luck with that!). It will also be made from greenish epoxy, and the underside will have an air box, and the underside will have a not too smooth finish, meaning the gel coat is thin on the underside, exposing the fiberglass cloth weave.

Correct me if I'm wrong (I'm sure someone will) but a real one will have Made in Canada printed on it. The last real one I saw had that ,although it was faint after all these years.
