Yes the 72 C body motor mounts will work, the C body oil pan will clear the K and suspension of the E you can use your stock Cuda transmission mount from the smblk, I'd recommend a new BBlk radiator, you could use the C body rad, but it would require redrilling some holes, you need to lengthen some wires on your stock harness, the dist. leads, coil leads and the water temp sender wire, the alternator leads are fine, if your 340 was 727 equipped, and your going to run a BB 727, all the E body 727 shift brackets will swap over to the BB 727....if the C body has the 1 pc kick down rod, it may interfere with the E body firewall,...you need to locate a 3 pc kickdown set up....get rid of the C body exhaust manifolds and use either B/E 70-1 B/RB manifolds, or headers
I've done this swap many times over the decades, C bodies were the engine donors of choice

C kickdown won't work but can use the 71/2B one piece kickdown. I myself never had luck with the C pan. Center link rubbed against the pan but can be cleared.

I usually found the C body oil pans from 75 and up were an issue in the E/B chassis with the centerlink

I've done a few of those swaps in the 80's when you could get New Yorkers for a couple of hundred, and a 318 e body for about 800, the good old days...... you might also have to shorten the drive shaft, and the u joints might be different,if it has the 904.
I plan to use a bb 4x4 tranny with the sb tailshaft. Also I got a b-body dana for it. I don't yet have a driveshaft, so I will have to find one and have it made to the right length.

Just dropped a 71C into a 70 Challenger and the link rubbed. Not too bad and was an easy fix.

...the OP didn't state the type of tranny, but if it's a 340 car, it will be either 727 or 4 spd, either case it will be an 8 3/4 rear, so his shaft will fit the BB 727 if so equipped....usually the 318 cars were 904 equipped and 7 1/4 rear, so the shaft was longer, and ran smaller u joints

As for kickdown I may just run a manual valve body. Thanks for the replies.
Still need a K/D
I have ran a t/a valve body for years and it does away with the need for a kickdown. Do certain manual vb's require a kickdown? Because I do want low band apply this time around.

Not with a FULL manual valve body, the Kick down is eliminated
