My '65 300L reportedly has the OEM top. Can the waterproofing fail on something this old? If so, what's the best DIY way to reseal the fabric?

Not expecting to see rain since this car's a fair weather friend, but it'd be nice to ensure full protection from the elements if we ever get caught out in a summer shower.

OT and wish I had an answer for you torquechap - but is your 300L a 4spd.? Just curious, I saw a silver vert at Carlisle a few years ago - had to roll up my tongue with dirt and grass back into my mouth after a few pics - I had a 300L vinyl top for a few years but had to sell in 1986 - bills - I miss that car so much - really an understated car in my opinion - wish I knew where it was...hope someone can help with your top question - Joe

Hey ShakerJoe, sweet car! The L looks so right in white. My L's an automatic. Those 4sp cars are rare birds indeed. You're right about those cars being understated, but their sheer length (>18') certainly gives them a subtle presence. While waiting for my plates on the car, I've already bought a pair of Magnum 500s (14x5.5) and a set of BFGs with raised letters. Other than that, an updated stereo which I'll likely put in the glove box and an easier breathing air cleaner to feed that 413 wedge, the rest of the car will be bone stock. Can't wait to get her on the road!
