I ran the Lofgren blanket for a few years on the street and strip. Never had any heat issues. Easy to install too.
When I got into the 9s I got the CSR carbon fiber shield. It's more of a pain in the rear to fit in the car, but I feel better w/ it compared to the blanket. It definitely saved my feet when my 727 exploded a few years ago.

i run a blanket, with absolutely no issues, even in the hottest of weather. i saw a very expensive carbon fiber shield fail to stop a front drum explosion at our track. i trust my blanket.
for what is the good life if not doing things thoughtfully?

Dom...I've already tested a CSR shield w/ a drum explosion and it worked great. After seeing what happened and the damage done, I seriously doubt a blanket will do any better. ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/Twocents.gif)
