I have looked at some past post, but can someone tell me if I can grind any clearance for my starter stud on a world 4.500 hemi block? The bellhousing is a 10.5 aluminum. The starter is a powermaster 9523 it's clockable but only clears the tti 2 1/8" headers in the as delivered position I've tried all the other positions. This puts the stud against the raised area of the block around the cylinder. I will cut the stud off if I have to anyone else use this combo and have a fix? How thick is the block in this area?

trim the stud on the starter before grinding on the block

It's no big deal, grind a bit of clearance on the block. The chrysler mini starter won't fit either without a little block grinding. Dave

I just ground the large starter terminal to clear the engine block. After I determined that was the best fix, it was no big deal

Good Luck...

Thanks for the replies guys. I figured I would have to shorten the stud, but more clearance would be nice. I'm just a little concerned about dressing the block in that area not shure how thick it is there. I already had to grind the ear on the block above where the starter mounts to get it to go into position on the bell. After this the next problem is tti's and a power steering box. Thats next after this problem is fixed. Thank god this thing is on the k member on a three wheeled cart I would be royally screwed to try this in the car.
