Can anyone tell me if these bolts are 12 or 6 point? The ones on my car were mixed when I got them. Would like to get the correct type back in place.

These would be the 3 bolts attaching it to the K frame.

Thanks

I'm not sure when they changed them, but anything I've had that was a 70 has the 12pt.

.70 cuda= 12 point. those conical washers, what do they look like? they had been changed to hardware store flat washers on my car by previous owner.can one get those washers somewhere, are they special?.someone is selling new bolts and washers on ebag now, they say the washers are special to fit in the resses on the box?i dont remember any resess on the box, just that the holes on the box are much bigger than the bolts..

The ones I have are not flat but actually have curvature to them and are really thick. And from looking at the factory paint on them, (2) of them were installed upside down. When I say curvature, picture a frisbee setting on a table. That is how they are installed with the bolt. As the bolt gets drawn tight, it loads those washers evenly onto the steering box I guess. Would like to know if these are correct for assembly from someone who knows more than me. Found a lot of goofy stuff on my car.

Yes, I also saw them for sale on the bay. I was going to pull the trigger but wasn't sure if they were right. The pic of them shows split washers, not conical. While the bolts on my car were all different, they did have the conical washers on them. It's an aluminum steering box so my guess also would be to distribute the force away from the hole. They are too thick to be a locking washer I would think. It would probably need the split lock washers also.

I've never noticed any with a curve to them... between all the cars I tore apart for resto work, parted and so on. Maybe they got flattened when installed?

Mine don't have near as much curve to them as the pic above, but they are definately concave. I suppose it's possible mine were flattened out some. I can see it would be a good way to move the load away from the holes where the aluminum would be much more prone to cracking.
