markrr OP super stock M Joined: Apr 2004 Posts: 965 S.W. Pennsylvania	How can I check the water temperature sensor and gauge on a '69 440 car? Can I just hold a lighter to the sensor and see the gauge rise? Thanks.

rth mopar R Joined: May 2005 Posts: 583 NJ	remove wire from sending unit and ground it,with ign on gauge should sweep all the way.also check voltage at wire lead with ign on.

stumpy I Win Joined: Jan 2003 Posts: 33,012 Grand Prairie,Texas	Ground the sender wire then turn on the ignition just long enough to see the needle move halfway. If you peg the needle you will burn out the gauge.
