I've had a Thermoquad that's been off the car for a few years now and decided to put it back on today. It seems to do really well with the exception of two small problems.

The first and most noticeable problem that I have is the infamous "bog" when going to WOT. It seems to go away some, after going WOT a few times in succession but it also seems to come right back after punching the throttle after cruising around with just the primaries for a few miles.

The second problem is the throttle sticks open every second or third time that I go WOT, and I noticed that right before I put the TQ on the car that the secondary air doors would stick here and there just by actuating them by hand. I thought it would be okay, and just be careful while driving it, etc. When it does stick open if I punch the throttle pedal real quick and back (like dis-engaging a choke), it will unstick the throttle.

Could the two problems be related? If not, could I get some help on correcting them?

Thanks

The bog is caused by the secondary air doors being too loose and opening too early, you need too adjust the spring tension on it.

So earlier when I had the carb off and was actuating the door by hand and they were sticking open, they were too "loose"?

Sounds like the vac pull-off is bad to me. Allowing the secondary air valve to flop open at WOT and not to shut it down while cruising. Or the linkage needs "tweaked" to the air valve. The air door tension spring may need tightened up also.
