Hi guys, Well despite the recent temporary brain-f--t I'm pressing on with the Charger. Getting on with the engine, While the F2 procharger looks like the most likely option I just wanted to explore more fully other options if they exist for supercharging before getting cracking on it. Has anyone here put a Whipple or Magnuson supercharger onto a Gen 2 hemi and if so would it fit underhood on a standard hood 68/69 charger? (no carbs front/rear intake & EFI).? We have the ability to custom make/modify the intake. If its possible to go under hood with the twin screw it'd be a cleaner install, possibly better throttle response at lower speeds, quieter etc. Does anyone know if a magnuson or whipple can feed 526 cu in, 7,000 rpm @ ~20 lbs boost ~8:1 comp cam=270'ish @.50 ? I cant find much info on them as they seem to be only in kits. Key factors being : is there a compact twin screw big enough to feed the engine? Will it fit under the hood without mods to the hood? Would appreciate feedback from anyone's experiences. Cheers , Darren

Let me answer you in the order that you asked. NO NO NO NO AND NO The only chance you have of fitting under the hood is a procharger.Check out BIGTIME's website. He is "Mr Procharger"http://www.bigtimeauto.com/ Bob is a MOPARTS member in great standing I went with a roots on my hemi.I dig that look
HEMI-ITIS has no cure. My condition is fully BLOWN!!

Might this be what you are looking for? I don't have all the details yet but stay tuned.Todd
I that the Aussie built blower? I tried to get my hands on one, but the gave up on making it due to detonation problems on gasoline (too much heat). I wanted to try it on alcohol

sorry even a sixpack barley fits under a stock hood. A procharger might but you'd have to have a crappy intake and bonnet. Get a cowl hood and roll.
just some raw numbers here i dont know how low a intakemanifold can be made for a hemi but im sure one can be made lower than a sixpackmanifold since those are pretty tall.
a carb is aproximatly 3 1/4" tall a 4.2L HPS supercharger twincsrew is 6" tall and dont eat anymore height since its made for fuelinjection with a rearinlet. im pretty sure a manifold can be made lower than the stock intakemanifold and with no airfilter or carb above the twinscrew i cant see much of a problem.
the diference betwen a carb above a intakemanifold and a supercharger is only 2 3/4" that must be possible to take back by making a real short intakemanifold and by not having a airfilter ontop.
to the OP better safe than sorry i would install the engine and take a few measurements it might be a tight fit but i bet it can be done, while measuring dont forget that the snout and top pulley will be close to the hood aswell

sorry the late reply i didnt notice this. the intake is made from BDS intake and cut to prox half to get it low as possible the tig weld the new top plate for it. i had some issues with the aluminum block last year but they give me a new one on warranty.. in next two months we will go to dyno and see whats going on. it made 600hp/ 1200nm on 2500rpm on chassis dyno before we broke the tci 6x transmission. the tranny has now new billet interiors and we are looking for around 1200hp/1500nm on the engine in low boost. here are few videos on the last summer on chassis dyno http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SbJ4AC3jyEkcruising http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oPMQhDqKOXAStart up : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RGvUsdJ9mtwif you have any questions im happy to ansure those

thanks, on that setup we had Audi pencil coils we later update those to AEM CDI system.. on dyno we will run both setups to see witch does the better job.
