Dew Wipe? Not sure if that is the proper terminology, but the chrome and fuzzy strips that buffer the side windows from the door skins is what I am talking about.

I have new "dew wipes" to install on my interior door panel and rear panels. I noticed that they are fastened with staples. Is that what people are using NOW to install these on new or used door panels?

Is there another, better, secure method to mount these dew wipes? Reuse the staples? Are there new replacement staples? Small screws?

Any ideas or thoughts on this would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Steve

The "window fuzzies" (which is the name I believe most people around here call 'em by) for my interior panels came with little screws for attaching to the panels. The upper part of the upper panel is sheet metal behind the fabric/vinyl, so the screws hold well. Can't remember for sure, but I believe I had to drill small holes to get them started.

Can't speak to the outer door fuzzies, as mine were put on by the painter when the car was done. I believe they were clip/snap-on type deals.

Although often tedious work, I reuse the factory "staples" to secure the cat wiskers to the inner interior panels, they're pretty thick, they can take some amount of rework, opening and reclosing them with some needle nose plyers, you'll find that trying to substitute some type of screw or rivet, will only scratch the glass,....AFTER installation...been there, tried that...
