Torque then go 60 degrees using guage
So I torq to 30 ft lbs then add another 60 degrees to that ? We made a template the first time this motor was built. I just wanted to make sure I got them tight enough !

You should have measured the rod bolt stretch and then matched the stretch on assembly. Torque is heavily dependent on the friction coefficient in the threads and under the bolt head. "The relationship between applied torque and the tension created is described by the relationship: T = K × D × F where T = torque, K = nut factor, sometimes called the friction factor, D = bolt diameter, and F = bolt tension generated during tightening. This expression is often called the short-form equation." http://machinedesign.com/article/underst...lationship-0818

I torqued mine to 75 Ft.Lbs. with ARP lube Gus
Thanks Gus. I have them @ 30 ft lbs right now and found my 60 degree pattern we made when it was put together the first time. I'll add the 60 degrees and check it with a torque rench to see what the final torque spec is . I'm sure it will be right around 75 ft lbs.
