I have a stock 1978 360. since It is very low miles I just want to re-ring it and use the stock dished pistons. Between decking the block and milling the J-heads, can I achieve a 9:1 compression ratio? thanks

I would cc the heads to see exactly what compression ratio you have now, a rule of thumb is you have to mill off .0048 inches to take 1 cc of combustion chamber volume out of the heads (-3cc's should yield ruffly a .2 increase in compression) and a ruff figure on the deck is every .010 milled off or (.010 less in the head gasket) will yeild .15 compression increase
