from what i gather a power steering box will have to be installed, steering column and pump/hoses
what other years/models of cars would make good donors?
any pointers/pics would be greatly appreciated
i have the steering box already

Actually you may not need a new column. I googled swapping from power to manual in our '71 Charger and found out that power and manual used the same center shaft. It is collapsible and has 2 sets of holes (one at manual depth and one at power depth) filled with plastic pins. I had to disassemble our column and soak it in penetrating oil to get it to slide out. In your case, you can tap on the end of the shaft (without the coupler on it and with a rubber mallet or the eqiuvalent) and drive it in to the desired depth. From what I read, the plastic pins were to keep it from rattling. It probably won't be an issue if it has light surface rust like ours did. All you need then is the p/s coupler. Tim

i've been searching the net and have seen adapters for changing from power to manual steering but it seems to change manual to ps the column has to be changed........I wish I knew for sure cause I have found most brackets,pump/pullies available through jegs, year one and others........also i haven't found out if the ps pump is the same on all big blocks?
