1971 'Cuda Non-ralley dash.
I just repainted my instrument panel cover black. All the instruments have that silver ring around them. What are you guys using to repaint that ring? Model paint? I will need something that I can put on with a brush. I don't have an air brush and I will not use a rattle can for something this small.
Thanks,
.,

use a "chrome" paint pen for more professional results, many other finishes/color avaliable also
Chrome paint pen sounds like the ticket. Where can I find this and does it stand up to cleaning, touching?

Yes, very durable....you can find them at some bodyshop supply stores, thru www.eastwood.com or on Ebay, some stores that carry the Krylon automotive paint line....it'll give you a much more professional finish, if you use the "chrome" pen, try and do the rings on the dash, or any raised edge in one stroke of the pen, stop and go strokes, or recoating will yield poor results in the finish, practice on some junk parts before doing your finished parts

OK, I got to tell you that that worked like a charm!
The paint pen worked good and was a lot easier then I thought it would be.
I was shaking so bad when I started (didn't want to mess it up). LOL
Once I got the paint pen primed up and ready to go, the ring around the instruments guided the pen all by its self.
By the time I had finished with the last guage, I was an old pro. LOL As a matter of act, I got a little carried away. The minute I set back and looked at it, I realized the idiot lights should not have been painted. I will have to just repaint over them in black. LOL
I'm kind of disapointed it went so quickly.
Thank you very much for the advise.
