barracuda hood

Not sure if the above URL works, but this is in reference to the hood currently listed on ebay that was made from the original mold. I've never seen an original hood in person, but I would have thought that even a race hood would have had some bracing on the underside? Does anyone have any good photos of the underside of a real hood? How does it compare to this?
Kramer Automotive sells what they advertise as 'perfect reproductions', but they are $1000, not $250. My concern would be that the center of the hood would 'collapse' due to the lack of bracing?

Any thoughts or photos would be appreciated!!

Thanks CrazyD.

I figured that there had to be something more to the hoods than the link in my original post. I would much rather spend the money and get a good hood.

Does anyone out there have a Kramer Automotive hood, or seen one, who can comment as to fit, accuracy, and general quality? As always, pictures would be great!

Thanks again

I have a Kramer hood on my original 68 SS Dart, but I really haven't checked it too closely, I will take a look tomorrow! The hood on the link is being sold by Reed Koeppe, a member here that I bought my Dart from.

Rhinodart,

I'd greatly appreciate it if you could post your comments. If you haven't looked at it too closely, that tells me that it can't be too bad! LOL.

I'm looking for a street hood for a super stockish 68 barracuda that I'm building. The piece in the link looks more like a race hood. It would require a bit of work to add the required bracing.

Took the Kramer Dart hood off the car and got some pics. It looks like his is close to the originals with the bracing underneath!

Looks like the Ebay ad only has the top part of the mold. I think there should be another mold for the underside, then the two parts get put (glued w/resin) together.

I believe the reinforcements are just added after the hood is molded, I could be wrong but looking at it in person that is what it tooks like.
