Anyone here ever drive a car across the states recently purchased with a temporary registration of some sort? If so, how did you go about obtaining one. Thinking about driving a car from the Mid U.S. to California then shipping her over. Thanks in advance for any input

Just bring your Hawaii plates with you... If anyone asks tell them the new bridge is awesome.. I know California DMV will issue a moving permit, might figure out your route & try contacting the DMV's along the way through their websites...

Hey Randy! Thanks for your input. I was looking into checking the local DMV's of each state (that ought to be fun ) WHat sux about Hawaii is they will not issue me a registration until the car gets inspected locally once it arrives! Oh trust me, the thought of bring my "other" plates have run through my mind but when you got your foot over a pedal in control of 570 horses backed by a 5 spd and 4:10 Dana "things" read: may happen

Plan stops along the way to meet Moparts members, ship travel needs to those members & have boxes shipped back home from those stops... I got your central California stop covered... Then again Stu's playhouse would probably be more fun.. Personally when I travel I already have prepared FexEx shipping vouchers so I can box & ship as needed...

Randy! That's a great idea! Thanks for the offer But I think I've been too absent lately from Moparts that members probably have forgotten about me The shipping is a great idea! actyally I kinda did that when I was on the Mopar MoVenture trip this past summer. They gave us a lot of cool gifts along the way and I shipped to avoid having to lug it all Now that I think about it, I don't think I've mentioned about that MOPAR trip on here. It was a blast, all expense paid trip thanks to Ma Mopar! Check it out here: http://www.mopar.com/moventure/follow.php

ah hem.....
where at in Ohio? sounds like a fun trip!
In ohio, you get something like 10 days to get a newly purchased vehicle titled into your name. I'd have to dig up the ORC again, but when I bought my blue truck, it was in New York, and the Ohio law was written in a way that allowed me to put my own plates on it from another vehicle "just to get it home" so I could then take it to get the Odometer inspected and title work done. SO LONG AS I carried a bill of sale/signed title from the sale with me.
