The carpet in my convertible turns brown/yellow every few years due to the sun... I've had good results using the SEM Carpet & Trim paints.. I keep it back 15+ inches & just mist on multiple coats, then come back an hour later with a stiff nylon brush to loosen the nap of the carpet & finally a good vacuuming... Carpet will look good again for a few years.. Car has been done now fifteen years & I've re-dyed six times & replaced the carpet once.... Next time I replace the carpet I'll be calling Dave @ ECS..

I used cheap fabric spray on the carpet in my sedan where it was sun faded and brown. The fabric spray worked great but the carpet is black. No match problem.
Fabric spray....like a dye? I've seen solid pieces of dye that get dissolved in water, but never in a spray. What am I looking for here? I have black carpets as well.

I went out to my garage to see if I still had the spray can, I don't. I bought it at WalMart. I'm pretty sure it said "Fabric Dye" but it could have been vinyl dye.
