I was talking to a fellow moparts member regarding my LA-built (no broadcast sheet) 1970 cuda and the question of axle ratios came up. I bought the car years ago out of a side yard in Sacramento. It retains all of its original paint/interior but when I bought it it was missing the hood, engine, trans (had 23 spline and a scatter shield), rear axle (had 8 3/4), and fender tag. The title, dash VIN, and all body VINs match (BS23VOE128882). By looking at the car I know it originally had:
-440-6bbl
-FK5 paint
-black vinyl interior
-shaker hood (hole in firewall)
-std gauges
-non-console 4spd
-manual steering
-longitudinal body moldings (with pin stripe around it)
-body color mirrors
-AM radio
-standard cuda stuff (hood pins, moldings, dual exhaust, etc)
My question is: is there any way to tell whether it was a track pack or super track pack car? I've heard rumors that there is, but nothing more than rumors. In any case, it will receive 4.10 gears because...well...all of my cars get them.
Also, does anyone on the West Coast (car is in WA) inspects/documents cars?
Thanks in advance!
