I have the driver side remote mirror from my 73 Challenger off of the car right now. Surrounding the 3-cables bundle are a couple of "clips" or retainers. One is plastic, and has a couple of tabs or ears, which I believe pop into a hole in the inner door structure, on the forward end of the door. There is also a metal "clip", between the mirror base and the plastic retainer. It appears to help hold, or retain the routing of the cables. This metal clip also has one end bent over, and it appears that this bent-over area would swedge over a thin piece of sheetmetal somewhere in the door. Where does this metal clip mount?

the thin piece of metal is to hold the adjuster on the door panel.
it slides on the top of the adjuster to keep it from pulling thru the door panel when you but the bezel on the front of the panel.
there should be 2 or 3, been over 10 years since i worked on one so i don't remember exactly, plastic clips on the cable. they hold the cable to the front of the door structure. this is so the cable doesn't get tangled up with the door glass when rolling it up and down.

Mine had two plastic clips on the cables. There was also a small metal clip attached to the top of the door beam. I didn't take any pictures before disassembly so I'm in the dark as well. Like what was mensioned earlier...there is a thin square piece of metal attached to the remote so it doesn't pull through the door panel as the bezel is tightened.

If you need a pic of the clip attached to the door beam let me know. I never removed it.

Thanks Darren. I got it figured out. I snapped the metal clip on to the inner door structure along the outside part of the door. I just had one plastic clip and found a hole for it. And I did have the little square plate clip that keeps the remote wand from pulling thru the door panel.

Got it all buttoned back up...
