Hello,

I was curious if you folks could help me wade through the various wheel or hubcap options available on our 1966 Coronet 500 from the factory. We have been looking at some factory and auto show pictures but are unsure of what was actually available through the dealer. If it would be helpful I could post some pics.

Thank you,

Jeremiah

'66 Coronet 500s had a full "wheel cover" STANDARD from the FACTORY. (& AFAIK no OPTIONAL covers or "DELETE" wheel covers available "from the factory")

The convertible 500 is wearing DEALER ACCESSORY "over-the-counter" mag-type wheel covers.

STANDARD on the '66 Charger & also used (STANDARD/OPTIONAL) on the c-body Polara/Monaco line was a "deep-dish" wheel cover that required specific "deep-dish" wheels.

Not until '67 - "from the DODGE factory"

Motor Wheel Corp. sold them aftermarket (with bright spokes) as "MAGNUM 500".

If you're not worried about restoring the car to original, go with what you like. Easiest part to change on a car.

Here is my friend's '67 with 15x7 Magnum 500 style wheels on it. They always look good on these box cars.

That's a nice Coronet Nick. What tires are those, blue lines look great on the 66's.

The tires came from a place in PA I think. We saw them at the Carlisle show and he ordered them. They're basically generic radials that the company modifies for whatever kind of design you want. I can see if I can find the name of the place.

I have a set of the original covers (factory), I switched to small hub caps vs. wheel covers. I dont think they are hard to find but if you need them, let me know.

I bought it with the idea of building a HEMI clone/tribute. So I pulled the 14" wheels with wheelcovers off and found a set of 15 x 7 that took the small hubcap and am using them. The car is almost finished, the latest photos I have are in the interior shop. More to come. I posted a few on Survivors and Projects that you should still be able to find.

If you are interested in stock wheelcovers, let me know. I don't see a situation where I will need them in the future. They are just sitting in the corner of the garage. Here is a photo of the wheel/tire I am using.
