If you have room for a rear sump pan I'd steer clear of the dakota pan. A full size truck pan or aftermarket version would be a better choice.
There are some guys running this pan in Superstock with great success. I have one already on my SS engine. But I can also put my 8qrt Moroso on too. The advantage on the Dakota pan is the rear sump and better ground clearance.........

I like the oil level as far from the spinning crank as I can get it,the stock Dakota pan has a tiny sump, but in SS I'd assume the pan can be modified?

Yes it can be modified......... but I have heard of guys running into the low 10's with the Dakota pan in SS. I was reluctant about the idea at first, but really considering it now..
I think it will fit my car........

It will fit in an A body, but you must modify the center link because it hits the pan. Some people will do the modification for $250.00.
Raul
What do they do to the center link??

hi, in stock eliminator some cars are using the dakota pan. it will fit, with little work. so far as i hear it's worth a tenth over a stock center sump pan. thedrag link hits on right side, can't turn very sharp.
If the drag link just hits on the right side............ could you not just modify the pan a little???
