I came across a 2003 5.7 Hemi out of a Ram pickup and want to stuff it in my '66 Coronet 500 Convertible. I'm sure there are some of you out there that have done this to similar cars and have some questions to ask. 1) Are there any firewall clearance issues? 2) Any transmission clearance issues? Have to cut the hump out at all? 3) Obviously have to make a new cross member. How did you build yours? 4) Motor mounts, most likely have to make my own? 5) Where did you put your computer? Any other tips or tricks would be much appreciated Thanks, Mike ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbs.gif)

The throttle position box in the engine compartment was 2003 only. 2004 and up it was integrated into the accelerator pedal.
Very good to know...... I guess I'll start calling around to salvage yards looking for a '03 ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbs.gif)

Hmmmm, instead of waiting for info on this thread........ is there anyone out there that has done this conversion that is willing to speak with me on the phone? Or any shops out there that are willing to answer questions over the phone?
The link I posted before should answer most questions (the one with the 6.1 in a cuda)
Best guys are Hotwireauto.com (Squire auto), Modern Muscle, S&P performance (hotrodlane.cc), an http://bouchillonperformance.com/
All great folks and very helpful.

Thanks again for all the links ...... they did answer 90% of my questions but I have questions about the wiring harness's and computers. I have an '03 engine out of a 2500 truck, can I only use an '03 harness because of the throttle position sensing box? Do I only need the ECU and TCU to make it run and shift properly? I see all these guys sell custom harness but I can get an OEM harness for $200 buxs. If I can make the OEM harness work with out a lot of modification I can save myself $500 +

I would talk with Chris at hotwire. He will tell you the real scoop on what you can or should do. Also check over on forbbodiesonly.com and look for posts by johnsparts.

I used Bouchillon performance box and wiring, they delvered the 2003 gas pedal box too since I used a 904 trans and needed a kick down set up. I was very happy with the parts, easy to install and really liked the result. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ZA4euk6R0U
