I picked up a 64 Barracuda with the 273 2bl. I want to put a 4bl on it, and was originally thinking throwing a cast iron one on there, but I have a performer sitting on the shelf.
Is there a set angle or dimension to have a modern intake milled to have it fit properly on the 64 273, or is it a crapshoot where everyone is alittle different?

Yes you can use a "modern intake" just make sure it is for a small port head and you will must likly have to oval out the holes in the intake b/c early 273 have a different bolt angle on the intake some intakes the bolt holes are big enough to just bolt on the intake some or not.

oops sorry forgot to say must aftermarket intake you have to pull the dowl pins of the rails as there is no provisions for them in the intake.

The only angle that is different is the angle of the BOLT HOLES. Otherwise the intakes are the same.

There is an Edelbrock dual-plane that was made specially for the early 273s but I cannot remember what it was called. I'd find a Performer and modify the bolt holes with a rattail file.

Here is the alum manifold I am using a "D4B" on my mild 273, it is a small port bolt on, my car is always in Fla, I chopped off the heat riser for a poor man's airgap manifold

Reality check, that half the population is smarter then 50% of the people and it's a constantly contested fact.
