Need to replace the Holly (wrong Carb) on my 69, 383, 4 spd with A/C car. The correct replacement is a 4711s. I would like to stay w/ Carter but was thinking- would the 9801 which Carter made as a after market turbo quad be a better choice. If so I would have to change the manifold also- correct? If so what manifold would you recommend.

I am thinking this because some say the turbo quad was one of the best made

the edelbrock 650avs is nearly identical to a stock 383 avs in size. the primarys are the same. the 383 avs had 1 11/16 venturi and throttle bores. the edelbrock has 1 5/8 secondary venturi and a 1 3/4 throttle bores.

The 9636 Carter is a direct replacement. I ran it for years on my 440 in my truck I would recomend a 800 cfm Edelbrock Thunder series
