Hey all,
I'm looking for the rear window tracks for my rear 1/4 windows in my 71 cuda convertible. Mine are missing. The ones I'm finding are approx 13 inches long. Are hardtop rear tracks the same dimensions as convertible? Any info would be great! Thanks!

Tracks are the same.. Power regulators are different, but easily modified.. Can't say on manual regulators..

customer of mine went down this road last summer on his 71 challenger vert.

What are you calling a rear guide? As far as I'm aware E bodies use three points to attach the window to the channel... & every vert I've worked on the windows of (quite a few) used all three points..

Randy,
I'm referring to the U-shaped metal channel that clips on top of the rear wheel house and then bolts to the inside of the body up top near the window frame( sorry no picture )

On this challenger vert he worked on it did not have the brackets that these channels clip to and with the vert top frame they wouldn't allow them to bolt to the body

Yeah, none of that on a vert... It's been so long since I worked on an E body with a roof that my memory of the channel is fuzzy.. I prefer cars without roofs..

Oh and as I scroll to the top of the page there is now a picture... Verts don't use that at all..

Hmm I posted that picture after the thread started because I thought it might help. Sorry. I actually borrowed the pic from someones ad looking for the same thing. Though it might be the one. Do you have a pic of what they DO use?

They don't use anything at the rear... Just the three points on the center track... The picture I'm attaching is of a window for a deputy which is bolted solid so while the outer two mounts are correct the center is just bolted solid... On your car there should be a square slider made of two pieces that snap together on the center track and that attaches with a special shouldered bolt & a spring in the bottom center position..

I thought that was my pic. Ya I was told the vert did not use the rear track. I went without them and the windows seem to work fine.

Heck, the photo I posted could be yours too.. I try to remember who's they are & give credit but to be honest I've collected so many that show details I can recall every one... Hopefully using someone's photo to try & help others won't upset the picture taker to much...

Yes, thanks for the use of the picture. I'm now leaning towards no track needed. But also going to check with a friend taking apart a 70 vert that(hopefully) has not been messed with and tells the true story. Will post what I find.

Are the rear 1/4 window regulators the same on a Convertible vs Hardtop Cuda/Challenger?

Just looked in my 70/1 parts book. Shows the rear track for H/T but not vert.
The regulators are the same between H/T and vert but different between Cuda and Challenger.

Not so for power rear regulators... But converting is easy...

Here is a picture of my window. Looks like I might be missing some pieces... Unless they are already on the window track. Hmm.

Look in the center slot of the track... The square slider is two pieces that snap together..
