I picked up a 72 wagon with a low mileage 440....the low compression 200 hp version....I want to give the wagon a mean look and love tunnel rams.....would a tunnel ram with 450 holleys work ok this setup? All else will be stock, including points....I may add flowmasters for sound.....

Anybody done something like this with good results? Tips?

1. EI, just do it.
2. Smallest plenum and shortest runners you can find.
3. 600 Vacuum secondary carbs. take 'em apart and make sure the jetting and power valves are matched. Make sure you have backfire protection for the PVs.
4. Get a good linkage and throttle. I used a /6 throttle cable, but you are going to have to come up with a good kickdown.
5. Clean out any carbon in the engine first, then run as much initial timing as it will take without detonation.
6. Figure out a good air filter and fuel lines. Please no cheesy pep boy chebby stuff.

It will work, but it may not be any faster. it will burn more fuel.

The hardest part is fabbing a proper throttle kickdown linkeage to keep the tranny from burning up..

Do lose the points even if you do a pertronix under the stock cap to keep it looking stock.Recurve the dist as said.
