Weiand Team G,

I think if you do some research...you will find that almost any single plane COULD pick you up over the Team G. Alot of the Gs have core shift issues...

One fellow on here (with a combo close to yours) picked up .2 or so going from a G to a RPM. But, more than likely the gain was not from the RPM itself, but from the potentially substandard G...

Sam, I've got both a 440 victor and an M-1 if you want to try them.

It can be hard to beat a ported SD on the street on a high compression 440 or a 600hp 500 incher. A shorter runner will be less restrictive to the valve than a longer one of the same cross section, so unless you need more torque below the torque peak a shorter runner is generally better for power. SG's table kind of bears that out from Steve Dulcich's article on an 11:1 max ported 915 headed 440. The M1 is also a very good manifold but it has taller but narrower runners and it's a bit more work to port.

I agree with Chip the SD and Perf RPM are very close, particularly on an Automatic B or E body 440 to about 550hp. The RPM will make a little more torque and the SD will make a little more power and the cross-over point is around 4000rpm...et's will be very close. A heavier/tigher stalled car will favor the RPM, a lighter or 4 speed car generally the SD. But a street 383 based B/E car will almost always favor the RPM, IMO.

The huge advantage of the SD is not 'outof the box'; it is relatively easy to port to flow over 310cfm which makes it a perfect choice for many/most 500" B/RB's with E-heads, especially when you need it to fit under the stock hood.

You are running a Team G and it's NOT a torque maker below 4000rpm but it makes very good top end power. I had a 550 horse 451 stroker in a 73 duster with 3.91's and a fairly tight 3500 stall Fairbanks, a warmed over SD woked the best in that motor, the Team G was too soft below 4500 and since it was a 90% street car I wanted to keep the stall tight. I also tried an M1 on this motor and it worked about the same as the SD but noticably better part throttle torque and no less power than the G. The G works best in Light cars with 4800-up stall and deep gears. I think on your motor the Victor would be an improvement and would probably work AS WELL on your particular combo than an SD...but not necessarily any better. And with a little porting the SD picks up about 40cfm (from 270 per runner to ~310) pretty easily, and that's more than enough flow to support ~630 hp.

There's no way there's that much difference b/t a Performer RPM and the Holley SD. I've tested them both back to back at the track and they run almost identical to each other on a very similar motor to what that test used. More excellent dyno results from Mopar Muscle magazine.

My sons Dart when we compared the Holley Street Dominator to the performer RPM:

Holley SD - 11.59 @ 117
RPM - 11.55 @ 116

Very close as the RPM was much better in the first 1/8 and after that the SD comes on and pulls more mph.. 3550 lb Dart with a .030 over 400 and 3.91's. Ron

Thanks for all the replys. Glenn, I may take you up on the offer. I did fail to mention that I have the Team G with 4500 flange. I am using an adaptor for my 4150. I have a Street Dominator on my dads Satellite that I can pull off and try but I'm leaning toward a Victor. If I go with the Victor should go with the regular Victor with the 4150 flange or the Super Victor with 4500 and use my adaptor again? Also, should I do some porting or run it out of the box?

Just do it. Intakes aren't that expensive. And you're not gonna know how much you'll pick up until you try it. Some have had great experience with a team g some haven't. Its just gonna depend on what your combo likes.
