Picked up this 68 Hemi GTX a few months ago. Getting to a point on it where I will start messing around with it's tuning.

I know how to time cars at full advance, how to use vacuum to set initial, etc..but always on 440's. Question is...what do you all typically see for initial timing, and what is preferred full advance timing for a stock Hemi, auto trans with a stock converter, 3:23 rear end.

Hoping to at least start in the ballpark based on what I learn here and work from there.

the FSM says 0, TDC.

if it is relatively stock i would start at about 12 BTDC and just keep going from there. total is more important though, and 32-34 is most likely what it will want. but they will take a lot of initial, just depends on the curve of the distributor as to how much initial you can give it and still end up with the total that you want.
