A12 can also appear on other 1970 model year cars as the Scheduled Production Date - October 12, 1969. (1970 model year)
Good one.........this one got me on my '69 GTX that had a SPD of December 16 (1968, code C16) and I thought I had two consoles because it was on there twice... ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh2.gif)

Does A12 apply to 1970 cars with correct options or only 1969
So to answer the question you're TRYING to ask; No, 1970 440-6 cars are not designated or referred to as A12 cars, only the 1969.5 cars are. The A12 package (in this context ) was a package that included more than just the 440-6 engine, also axle package, wheels, lift off hood, etc.
1970 440-6 cars are sometimes referred to as "V code" cars as this was the VIN identifier for the 440-6 engine in 1970.

Were the A12 cars taken off the line same as the M code cars? Dart and Barracuda.
No, (and a slight yes); at the end of the assembly line the A12 cars were taken to an area in Lynch Road Assembly and the hood, carbs, air cleaner and front hood pins were installed. All of the other package components were installed on the standard assembly line at Lynch Road.
