The biggest race I ever won was $2,000. At another race I won Mod ET Class and R/U in Nostalgia class, but the total was less. But that doesn't include the biggest win. By that I mean all the things that paid me because of that win. My lucky year was 2009. I didn't win much "round" money, and never finished 1st in any race. But I won the track points championship, another $$$. And in addition Summit paid $$$ to me for IHRA Super Series track winner. And I won the Rick's Jewelers competition for a $$$ diamond ring (1st to get 5 perfect lights, or 0.000 dial-in's or combination). It all adds up. But I do spend a lot racing, too. The IHRA Summit Super Series (SSS) paid me more in 2011 than all my other racing combined. SSS track champion money, $1000 tow money to go to the World Championship race, etc. And the no-box World Champion, Matt Hawk from Arizona, won $10,000 cash, $1000 tow money, track champion money, enclosed trailer, golf cart, etc. Get that IHRA "X" number! Like Davey Boyd shows (post above) http://www.ihra.com/SummitSuperSeries/News/2012/01/10/1/

Biggest race day payout is $5000. I did win a $4000 payday way back in the early 90's too, so really it was probably the bigger ofthe two. Won a decent amount of money last year, although still waiting on some contingency monies.

Win @ 2011 IHRA Sportsman Spectacular at Budds Creek, MD - $7,700 ($5,000 + $2,700 in contingencies) R/U @ 2010 Moser Axle Mania at Martin, MI - $7,500 This was particularly special because it was against a variety of vehicles & classes - delay box, 2-step, etc. Was .009 to .013 in the final but broke out by .004 against the 4.66 dial dragster. As luck would have it, purse was divided up to give more to the other finalists. But it was all taken off of the winner's amount and runner-up stayed as advertised. I'm just thankful that racing is able to help pay for itself because my regular job wouldn't support it for long.
