Hi, I have a 71 Charger S.E., the original taillights are in terrific shape but need to be repainted, they have two colors of silver on them, within the black accent lines by the taillight lenses and along the very outer rim of the housings is a light or very light argent or silver color, the main area in between is what I might describe as a light-medium or medium argent color, attached is the best picture I have of them. Can anyone guide me to finding the right colors and recommend a supplier of those colors in spray can form? That's factory paint on them as you see them in the picture.

Next dumb question, where can you get spray can rallye wheel paint for a 1971 if there is a difference in the colors the rims were painted over the years. I know the 71 has a darker colored center. Year One and the other usual suspects don't seem to have what I need and I don't like their markups anyhow.

Last question, has anyone seen the dual exhaust cutout rear valence for 71-74 chargers from AMD?

Thanks!
-Andy

Hi,
From what I have been able to gather; the early 71s used the silver around the tail lights and later 71s used a black (semi gloss). What I used on my 71 (build date 09-70) was either Eastwood's "Tank Tone" or Mopar Performace "Argent Silver". Either works well but is not a perfect match to the original. Also, check with Texas Acres there in Killeen (Harker Heights)and they may also be some help also.
I'm quite familiar with the Ft. Hood area as I went to high school and college there in the late 60s. Planning to come back for 40th high school reunion in October. I've got a 71 R/T and I struggled with the silver color also for the tail lights and rally rims. I ended up getting repop 15" rally rims from Summit that were powder coated but are a shade off from the original also.
Hope this helps.
