Does anyone know the application of Mopar performance part # P5249675 (small block 4 bolt main caps)? Can they be installed on a 73 la 360 with 2 bolt mains? Having trouble finding information on this application. Thanks

I think they're an answer to a question that nobody asked. AFAIK there have been exactly ZERO 360 OEM blocks with provisions for 4-bolt caps. They would be useful only on an "extra-duty" block. Maybe I'm all wet on this, someone will know more...

I don't know the application for that part #, but If you plan to make enough HP or turn enough rpm to require 4 bolt mains I think you need to consider an "R" block. Two bolt mains with studs and aftermarket caps on the three center mains will provide sufficient strength for even fairly high horsepower levels.
