I haven't dug deep into '67 fender tags - but for some reason PLYMOUTH used b/5 (565)? to specify "bucket seats"? on their b-body hardtops (convertibles & Barracudas used b/4) and Dodge used b/4 (564) on both the Charger & Coronet. It appears to be the same deal in '66 also. The q/7 appears to have something to do with the delivery or order of the car, one possibility would be a serviceman's foreign order for "domestic delivery". What's the Shipping Order #? Any chance you have a b'cast sheet?

Bet your car was built on March 1st...I have a buildsheet from another car that was in my GTX that has an SO of 02229
Under "a" on the top row there would be a 6 if there was a console

Dante, SO numbers on 67 and earlier cars are completely different than SO/VONs on 68 and later cars. SO's, VONs and SPDs have minor, if any, correlations to SPDs.

Is the build plant on a 67 tag ?
No but you can often tell which plant the car came from by plant specific nuances on tags. It's usually pretty easy to narrow down the plant if you know what plants produced which cars in a given year.
All three B body plants (LR, STL and LA) used different types of inspection punches. There are coding nuances between the plants too but that gets a little more obscure.
doug do you have any tags on gtx's built at all 3 to see if the console not being listed is a plant specific thing here ?
I'm sure one way for John to find out definitively is to see if chrysler historical has the IBM card for the car .

John, you'd have to have the BS, WS or look at the car to correlate the lack of the code on the tag and the car having a console. AFAIK, all plants coded the console when it was ordered.
If it was posted what transmission the car in question has, I missed it. A four speed could come without a console.
If the car came with a column automatic, you'd have to change the entire steering assembly if you wanted to convert to a console automatic. It would be possible but it would be a lot of work.
