Hi, could someone ID this B&M shifter for me please, I didn't have too much luck in the Q&A section as no-one new exactly what model it was or it's age but they thought I was on the right track, any more info here?

I would like to know what model it is & about how old it is so I know if it would be period correct for my '70 Barracuda project, Thanks

Looks like a B&M series 60 'quick click', 1980s shifter.

So do you think it is a bit new for an early '70s Pro Stock type car? Cheers

Since there were not any automatics in pro stock back then it would make no difference. 99.9% used Lenco's

That looks like an old B&M "Quick Shifter".The early models had a chrome box similar to what you have.Remove the cover,if it's just a retangled box then it may be just a newer version.I ran that type in my altered wheelbase car and my 68 Dart back in the 60s/70s.

Maybe I missed with the whole auto thing but here are some extracts from the NHRA Drag Rules 1971, Pro Stock Eliminator section that gave me the impression that autos were acceptable -

"Flywheel Shield: Flywheel shields required on all cars except those equipped with with pre-1961 Hydramatic transmissions. Minimum requirement for all other automatic transmissions is an accepted flexible blanket shield. See Safety Regulations,Flywheel Shields."

"Transmission: Any stock type transmission acceptable. Transmission must remain in conventional location, determined by engine used."

I'm a newbe to all of this so I appreciate all your feedback, Thanks guys.

Cheers for that, this is a street strip car I'm building & I'm not that sharp with a 4 speed so I think I'll do the auto thing, less work that converting it to stick as well.
