I need to replace the rear brake calipers on our 2008 Caravan. Just checked the usual suppliers, Autozone, O reilly, Advance and Napa. they all have the calipers available in the $55 to $75 range but the suppliers are Duralast, Fenco, Cardone, and Eclipse. I've only ever even heard of Duralast (autozone store brand) and Cardone, I would feel much better if a brand such as Raybestos or Wagner were available. So who do you trust? After all these are the brakes for my wifes minivan, and the OEM ones are hanging up after only 70,000 miles? thanks for looking Scott

I worked for a major automotive brake part company for many years and for the most part agree with what Mike said. For rebuilt parts, I am not sure how much rebuilding goes on overseas, it is probably still done in America. However, they would use Chinese or Indian parts for their rebuild kits. There aren't that many large scale rebuilders either, so regardless of who you go with, other than Cardone there may only be one or two other large scale rebuilders and the same parts are put in different companies boxes. For just about any brake parts these days, I would say just find the part with the best warranty, you can't find the quality and reliability that existed up to not that long ago, but at least get something you can return for another part when it fails prematurely!

I refuse to use dura junk in my cars. It's over priced Chinese crap. I like bendix and Monroe .. Recently got a set of Monroe's, made in Canada is close enough!

We used mostly Advanced stuff at the shop.I probally installed thousands with little to no problems.Same with rotors. We used pretty much their brand.I actually had more problems with the hi buck stuff. We used either their Gold pads or ceramics.Rocky

I think EBC is the only place that makes pads and discs in North America.
I'm afraid everything else has gone overseas.
