Sorry about all the posts guys, I'm trying to take advantage of the 15% off code at Scummit and round up some of the bigger items I'll be needing. Trying to decide which rockers I should pick up for my 508. It has a decent sized Comp solid and RPM heads with Isky 8005 springs.
I am vascillating between: Harland Sharp 1.5's at $561 after discount Crane Gold 1.6's(the cam was spec'd for 1.6's) at $456 Comp Pro-Magnum 1.5's at $592
As always, cheaper is better but I don't want issues down the road. Eventually I plan on sticking a mild roller in it. This is a 100% street car that we put about 2,000 miles/year on going to different shows and just beating around in having fun with it. Max RPM will be around 5500-6000.
So, do I need to spend the extra $250 or will the Crane Gold's fill my needs?
Thanks for any/all input! Jon

Harland sharps all the way. I bought mine from Dan (performance only). He and I had a great discussion on them and he sold me on them. Good stuff and well worth the money. I agree with the above poster don't go cheap with this part of the build.

Buy the best you can afford once, not buy the cheaper ones several times I have several sets of Harland Sharps, one older set of 1.5 and two newer sets of 1.6, all three sets check bigger at the retainers than advertizsed on the ratio The 1,5 check to be 1.54 actaul and both sets of 1.6 are actually 1.65 at the retainers Two of the sets are on roller cam motors with lots of srping pressures,625 LBs+ and the older set is on motor with hydraulic flat lifters with 350 lbs open pressure. I swear by them, I have had cheaper ones in the past, I got what I paid for

Harland Sharps all the way. I ran them on my old 440 w/ Edelbrock heads and they're on my Indy SR heads now.

Thanks TEd. Be aware, standard h Harland Sharps WILL work on the RPM heads, but the fitment is not as exact as I would like to see. I offer sets made to better align the roller tips for RPM heads. Let me know if I can help.

I am looking for a set for a mild street strip 440 with edelbrock rmp's with the 590 purpleshaft cam. I ran a set of cheap pro forms for years and they seem to work good for me on that. These ones have the bearing in them and they have the nice 12 pt. nut with adjuster. These look nice compared to my old mopar permormance aluminum ones Im running with my roller cam 500.
