Like the title says let's see them.

My spare tire well has some rust so I am going to cut it out. I would like to have a 15 gallon cell. I would love to see some ideas, thanks in advance.

Hey Clark,

I was looking into this myself and ran across a good idea. I helped replaced the gas tank in a friends 67 mustang and by handling the new tank I realized it would fit perfectly in the trunk of my Dart. I broke out the tape measure and if you were to cut out your spare tire well but leave about an inch on each side of the frame rails the Mustang tank bolts(yes the tanks bolt into the Mustang floor) right in.

As a plus I found on line you can get a nice tank for a Mustang that has all the goodies already in it for a nice electric pump fuel system. The only snag would be you would have to install it BACKWARDS so the hole for the filler tube lines up with the fuel filler neck in your car but its no biggie.

I actually saw a pic of a car here on MoParts some time later that had a Mustang tank in it but cant remember where.

I still have the old tank if you want to use it for a mock up.

Hmm interesting. I will have to find some measurements. Remember a fastback barracuda doesn't have much trunk in it.

Dart/Barracuda gas tanks are the same so I would assume the spare tire well will be as well but only one way to find out

The tank when installed would be flush making your trunk area flat.If you Google image 67 Mustang gas tank installed you will see what I mean.It would make for a clean install IMHO.

Actually the tank will fit the other way but you would have to run the filler neck tube down the inside of the quarter panel back to it which may not be a bad deal either because it would free up a some more room.

If I remember right the sending units had the same Ohm range so the fuel gauge will read right as well.

If you need the tank just let me know. It's old and rusty but will work great for mock up.

Maybe not helpful since mine is a back-half car.
