If I remember right the manual says to change it at 80K miles. Is it necessary? Real world experiences say what??? Is the 3.5L an "interference" engine?
Lots of stoopid questions.

Yes it is an interference engine. Only the 1st generation 93-97 3.5L was non interference. As for Timing belt change, because of the potential damage, i try to follow the book on that. However, i have seen SEVERAL of those engines with over 100K and no belt change.

Thanks, that's what I needed to know... I just rolled over 100K on it and was wondering if I'm living on borrowed time. Guess I'd better get this on the schedule pretty soon, sure don't want it to let go on me and cause extra damage/expenses just because I got cheap or lazy.
