So my friend and I are installign the blueprint series 408 in his charger. He has a dyno sheet with it 350HP and 460 ft lbs of torque, should be great motor.

Anyway, these blocks use the 93-99 360 magnum blocks as a base. On this block where the oil filter goes, they ship it with out the adapter plate for a filter. It is about a machined area 4inches in diameter.

So he went to chrysler and bought the adapter plate. put it on, but it does not fit correctly. There is like a 4" machined circle where a gasket goes and that is machined in th block. The there is a raised area in the cetner, where the adpater screws in with the nipple that the oil filter will use. This center section is raised higher that the machined area in the circle, so this adapter plate will never seal

Any ideas n this problem? do they make two adapter plates?

You have some incorrect information. Blueprint engines uses LA blocks with magnum heads. LA block have ears only to mount in the car. Magnums have The ears and pads.

I am not sure in magnum use a different oil filter adapter then LA

Yes, magnum blocks do use a different oil filter adapter than the LA blocks. Get the correct one and it'll be good.

Good luck with the motor... I had nothing but problems, trying to keep my blood pressure low, and not rehash everything, but in the end it had the wrong rings in it.

So the magnums use a different oil filter adapter? - I used two cork gaskets indian head together on one motor I built (but I had to use a right angle adapter) never felt good about it but it worked?

x2 the rings went in my blue printed engine and they didn't cover it under warranty then the was the stock broken valve springs, worn guides etc.......

It would be best to bring that to machine shop and get check out before you run it.

Mine cost an additional $1400.00 to get things right.

OK, Blueprint told us that the block is a 93-99 truck engine. I assumed that all motors those years were magnums.

They are. Don't take Blueprint's word as to what the block is. Give it a look over and look at the mounts on the block to deduce if it's an LA or Magnum. With everything I've heard about them though, I'd also be taking it apart.
