.inserts to repair an existing bronze guide?
I have most of the guides in my alum heads that need attention and don't want to remove the existing guides since I had problems with several of them moving in the head and my machinist pinned them all in place to secure them,, now they are getting loose and need tightened up, these inserts look like a bronze spring that is screwed in to the guide after it has been threaded and then locked into place and diamond honed to size, that is the basis of what I know about the process and need a little input as I am getting ready to do my leak down and pull the motor to get things going.

First do you know if it std. .500" guide or some strange .496" BS mopar stuff?
What ever you do to the guides its going to need valve job so best bet would be to replace the guides.
http://cheprecision.com/html/guides.html can make what ever you need plus they do have over size in the .500" stuff.

Thanks Brett, good info to have, I saved it in my favorites, need to get the head's off and apart to know the rest of the info, I know the origional guides were removed and new ones installed to go from 3/8 to 11/32 stem size, but there was somthing about those guides that had to be modified to fit but I cannot remember what was done, I just know they did not stay where they were supposed to and had to be pinned in place.
A new VJ is part of the work to be performed.
