That's only if you are racing for the General. Lol dont think you would be comfortable in a Vette Ed.
Getting old just means you were smarter than some and luckier than others.

35 64 Ply ht's and 35 64 Dodge ht's were built and yes they should be allowed.Early cars had Carters, later Holley's.67 RO & WO cars also should be allowed.Their only advantage over a regular street Hemi was the fresh air and the dykes ring pistons.
Corvettes have a huge advantage due to the engine setback and suspension.NHRA did not allow them in SS until suspension rules were changed. L-88 engines used aluminum closed chamber ret port cyl hds.ZL-1's used an open chamber aluminum rect port cyl head,a 40 h.p.increase over the L-88 stuff, not counting the better camshaft.
No humiliation, everyone knows what happened when the field was level. That includes the Chevy guys too!
Leave the gun.......take the Cannoli's....Mike

Moparmal must be happy, this weekend Dave Dudek cranked out a 10.95 at Musclepalooza the Pennington L88 was hot on his heels with a 11.03 and Rick Mahoney pulled a 11.18. Dave noted none of these cars were run in "Pure Stock tirm", most notably the tires were not showing any tread. I think Rick had tread on his though. http://www.youtube.com/channel/UC_mp6gBQ0MKcXuS4rlts54g

Thanks guy's.
True, we all had fully threaded tires and tires that were nice and worn in our trailers.. We agreed for this event we would "let-our-hair-down" so to speak and let it all hang out with the worn tires. Technically to be 100% legal for a pure stock race we would have had to be running the fully threaded tires.
What a great event, in the end it was the Pennington Vette and my Bee. I got Julie on the tree and won with a slower ET. 11.07 Bee. vs. 11.03 L88. The Bee grabbed low ET with a 10.95.
Terry and I both teched compression, valve spring pressure, etc.. He was more than willing, his car passed and had more on the table. I have a ton of pictures of everything being checked on both cars. Of course, Ricks car was teched at the Martin race and ran a strong 11.teen. By the end of this year Rick's RR will be a very hard car to beat. Something tells me the war with the Vette's is just starting

Everyone should mark that video and show it to a tech guy that might be pestering them about out of date belts or chassis cert. etc.
Tech guy is not going to care that another track is playing Russian roulette.
Everyone knows it not safe, but LV let it go because they want to see the guys run it out the backdoor, if something happens it's their problem.

I wonder if the track had them sign a wavier or something so the track could not be held liable ? And congrats Dave on that first 10 second pass ! Ron
