There is precious little diff betweeen LY, Cat or Eagle H beams,Other I beam aftermarket, Six pack rods etc The heavy weight is the Manley--but...it is one of the best H Beams out there with a quality bushing and real quality machine work. Don't fret about the weight diff on the aftermarket selections--a straight LY that has been resized by a pro shop with the plain old ARP bolt is a great rod! When light weight forged pistons are hung on it even better! They will put up with a ton of abuse with lighter pistons--that ain't hard to do as the stockers and super popular KB237's weigh a freaking ton--so just about any other piston makes an LY stronger! I love me some well prepped LY's!
