Just a question?? How do you go about figuring out what spring weight and how long of a shock needed for the application. I am looking into some rear suspension mods for my dart sport. Thanks for the info as always.

Thank you

I wanted as much travel as I could get on my street strip Duster, I ended up with a set of single adjustable coil overs that are 16.5 center to center with 170 lb springs I had the rear suspension work done by a local part time chassis builder and he bought the shocks and selected the spring length and rate He ended making the upper mount off of the roll bar down bar that goes into the trunk above the floor of the trunk over the rear end He didn't ask me about that before he did it and I didn't think he would do it that way I have since swapped them out for a set of double adjustable Strange of the same length but with 150 lbs. springs I also had a bulkhead panel made and had is carpeted so no one ccan see the coil overs mounted that way. As far as selecting the length look at where you want to mount the uper mount to be and then set the chassis at the hieght you want and figure where the lower mount will be and measure between the two, that would be the ride hieght so you would want a shock that would be in the middle of its travel at that length, IE center to center is 12 inches add three inches if you can find a shock that has 6 inches of travel(3 down and 3 up, 15 inches extended ,9 inches compress) and see what its extended length is I'm not really saying what I'm trying to say, sorry
