mine is a daily driver with a stock 440 with 75.000 miles, built from a rust free Kansas truck with 58.000 miles on it,best condition seat i have ever saw till seeing yours yes they have plenty or after market rims and some of the other stock rims fit. my stepside has the 5 on 5.5 wagon spoke rims with the 85 center caps and trim rings. just check the axle register on the newer stock rims i dont care for any of the stock old or new myself

I wish I could find something like that to drive so I can keep my trucks out of the weather. Is it pretty loaded up as far as options go?
AC !
And the upgraded seat and door panels, am/fm
They were still awful basic trucks in 1989
If anyone wants it more than me, I'll send'r down the road too

does it have the steering box frame brace?
swaybar?
i bet it wont have the dodge truck driverside lean to it with that low milage and nice shape.
the back seems a tad high, but ihave seen one stock in a long time.
is it a TBI roller cam 318?
I'll have to look to see if it has brace, just got here
Yeah it has the stink bug stance, no lean to drivers side
Yep, thats the 1st year for it
Original brochure is laying in truck

nice truck
there are a few nice 5.5 wheels out there. a lot more 4.5s.
the 81/84 rotors are a bolt on. the rears can be redrilled along with the drum.. a 4.5 drum will work but the center hole needs to be enlarged to fit the axle register..
I am truckless..

What custom wheel choices are there , or do they all look like 4x4 wheels ?
Can I use wheels off a late model base Dodge van, the ones that are kinda like rally wheels ?
I think I know where I can get a set of those , IIRC they are 16's .. right ?
Nice truck! The wheels I think you're speaking of are the aluminum ones with the holes, right? If so, they are like the ones that were on our 92 Dodge perversion van. They are 15" wheels. Good luck with the truck.

No, the ones I was thinking of look a lot alike the wheels you would see on a 76 Chrysler New Yorker
Its steel wheel , with a trim ring and a chrome center cap, they are steel, painted silver
My friend has these on his, they look pretty good too

Can you buy new rotors at Napa with the 4 1/2 pattern ?
yes ask for a 83-84 d-150 or 76 newyorker front rotors
they swap right on with the same wheel bearing

If you have the 9 1/4 rear,,, you CANNOT use the 84 and prior axle shafts in a 85 and later axle houseing..
I am truckless..

According to Auburn Differential the end of the axle changed after 1983. I had them on the phone this week after I got your PM about your hydra loc. Now I haven't dug out my Factory parts catalog yet but if what the guy at Auburn Differential is right then that means that an 84 axle will work. {I just double checked their catalog & the installation instructions too} According to them the change was after 1983.The 8.25 will interchange. The end of the axle never changed. Bigdad's truck having a 318 will most likely have a 8.25 Bob
