Having some issues with my vehicle (99 dakota posted here for more answers hopefully). I shut the vehicle off and opened the door to get out and a loud clicking started near the glovebox. Depressed the door jamb switch and sound went away. No biggie but went to lock the doors and power door lock switch doesn't work. Manual locked he doors went in to the store and came back out, still clicks with door open, went to start vehicle no power to key and dome light works. Opened glovebox and the light inside actually flickers to the sound. Popped the hood and it starts and run like normal. Shutting it off reguires the hood to be opened again fo restart.

Any thoughts? My other truck doesn't get driven anymore because no one can figure out those issues.

Sounds like possably an alarm system problem. Have you tried disconnecting the battery for a while to see if things reset?

no alarm stuff on this one. I will disconnect the battery. Now the truck is getting no power in the cab aside from that dam clicking noise. No dome light np headlights nothing except click click click. Click goes away when I press jamb switch or turn key.

Maybe your battery crapped out. Wasn't there a number of complaints abut the wiring under the battery box giving trouble? A connection seperating or shorting out.

A friend had the same problem with his full size. Battery was the problem with it. When it started you had to hold your foot on the gas pedal to keep it running. He had put a programmer in a few month's prior to this and thought it was the problem. Took it out and acted the same. Changed the batt and all was good.

I unhooked the battery, replaced a clamp and cleaned the terminals and hooked it back up. Symptoms have gone away. Hopefully thats all it was. I've never had things get that whacko in a short amount of time. Otherthan a fuel pump and a battery die at exactly the same time(90 caravan).Wish I could get the other truck sorted out wouldn't bother me as much if one acts up and can depend on the other.

Really appreciate the help!
